Following the success of her film “El Jaida” in 2017, Tunisian director Selma Baccar returns with her new movie “Ennafoura”. Premiered globally at the Opera Theater in the City of Culture during the 35th edition of the Carthage Film Days, the film blends social drama with political undertones, revisiting one of the most significant events in Tunisia’s post-revolution history: the Errahil Sit-in during the summer of 2013.

Synopsis:
Amadeus, a well-known 45-year-old antique dealer from Lecce, a small town in southern Italy, finds himself drawn by an unexpected and irresistible love for Betty, a 28-year-old Tunisian woman. He travels to Tunisia with the intention of marrying her so she can return with him to Italy. However, her modest family has conditions for the marriage: Amadeus must change his name, convert his religion, and undergo circumcision.
